1492

Day 2 is warm, sunny and filled with delicious food. First words spoken this morning "I am so glad we're not in Kalamazoo". My memories of (what I now call) Kalamazon't are mostly of sweat and a nun who cut me in line at the sundae bar. We've explored Columbus, including a cavernous bookstore and a German area filled with sausage.

The evening promises more sausage and some adult beverages. The photos show Spencer and I outside of the sausage haus and Spencer, his sister Jess and her fiance Katie on the mean streets of Ctown. --JW

Tour of Michigan

On the road to Michigan, USA. In this happy photo, I am driving like a pro, as one would expect. Also, the tunes are happening, thanks to Doolie's selection.

Shortly after this time we encountered an invasive, strip-search from the border guards in D-troit. Dignity intact, packed underwear now strangely absent, we proceeded to Kala-MA-zoo. Upon our arrival, I uttered the all-important, "we've made a huge mistake," and after a revolting cafeteria meal, awkward trip to the lavatory, we were back on the road to Columbus.

No tolls paid, we were scolded by another authority figure. Around 2:00 AM we pulled into the first true stop at my sis'. A delightful air mattress to the tunes of Elf lulled us to sleep. So ended the first day. --SPH
