Today was beautiful - a holiday in France - so the people were out and about! I spent the day walking the various 'rives' of the Seine - the sun was shining - it was very nice.
And what about the food you ask? Well, lunch was on the run - a swiss cheese baguette and a coca light for 6 euros (delicious!). Dinner was at a wonderful little Moroccan place that my supervisor recommended called 'Chez Bebert'. The Frenchest part of this restaurant was that it was in France - the waiter spoke to me in French, made jokes and was overall so very pleasant. The food...ooh! I had a glass of yummy wine called 'mascara' and to start a thin pastry like package filled with goat cheese and glazed with a really light honey-like sauce. For dinner I had the vegetable couscous - a pile of couscous served with four different side dishes - one of roasted vegetables, one of a tomato sauce with more roasted vegetables, one of chick peas in a mild spice sauce, and the last of white kidney beans in a red sauce...add to that a great spicy spread...yum! All that with an espresso was 24euros. Not bad! I walked home from there and now am ready to do some reading and then go to bed. Tomorrow I hit the library and hope to start my research.
Point of interest - no one here wears sandals. What do they know that I don't?
